Equal Opportunity Employer does not mean what you think it means, Mr Emmerson


From the Herald today.

Equal Opportunity Employers don't cancel pay equity investigations. Their leadership wouldn't belittle those fighting for pay equity. And they don't abolish pay equity investigation units.

Hope that clears that up for you Mr Emmerson.

    pay equity investigations don't mean we have equal opportunity employers, either.

    Nope, but it means that we take the pay gap seriously, identify the reasons for it, and thus can start to address them. No knowledge means no power.
