Follow-up

A few follow-ups about various issues we've been talking about here over the last little while:

• Invercargill cafe dispute settled, according to the Human Rights Commission. Anjum has written about the settlement over at Kiwi Stargazer. Anna wrote about whether Israelis on the street were fair game during the Gaza crisis in January.
• The ASCA Wedding child abuse advert, which we discussed here, has been shifted to a later time slot.
• The ex-expat's post on changing your last name on marriage has attracted quite a few new comments and reactions since featuring in the Down Under Feminist Carnival.
• Darien Fenton's Members Bill on a minimum wage for triangular contractors was discharged from the Order Paper by National this week. I'm not 100% sure what discharged means (feel free to enlighten me in comments), but clearly it signals that the Bill is not going to pass.
• Idiot/Savant has scored a coup - the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Select Committee has urged that his petition on disappearances be considered and that New Zealand should probably sign the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons From Enforced Disappearance. Go Team Blogland!
• Phoebe Fletcher at Tumeke has contributed a fantastic post to the blog discussion on pay equity, summarising some of the key research and ending with a plea to National and their supporters.
