It's a minor point in the article, but something I had never ever thought about until I read this today was the fact that secondary girl's school uniforms are generally still skirts or dresses. We wouldn't accept a workplace that only gave women skirt or dress uniform options, why do we think it's ok at schools?
Because as S59 showed us rather clearly, a very large segment of the public think it's okay to hold children to different standards than adults without justification. :(
