can we judge them on their sporting abilities? please?

i'm sorry, but i couldn't resist it. this just totally pissed me off: "The 50 most beautiful women competing at the Beijing Olympics have been named." so it's not a sporting competition for the women, it's a beauty competition with a bit of sports thrown in to justify the women being there at all. is there now no arena where women can be judged on achievements that have nothing to do with appearance? i would rather the female athletes concentrate on their sporting abilities and performing at their absolute best. i'd like these women to be treated as athletes, and have some coverage on who is the best and most talented in each area of competition. fat chance.
