(Not quite) Half a year of Hand Mirror-ness

The Hand Mirror launched publicly on March 18th this year, so today marks six(minus one) months since this blog's birth.* Given that political blogs seem to have a life-span of three years or less, that must mean we are now (almost) out of our teens, in blog years.

Stealing from Deborah's blog birthday post, here are some numbers:
Thanks so much to the readers, whether you comment or not. I've been quite stunned at the positive feedback, both on blog and off, which this project has prompted, and it's great that you have happened along to our little corner of the blogosphere.

And the biggest thanks goes to the other bloggers here, who keep the interesting writing coming, rain, hail or shine. Their open-hearted approach to joining me here, and their willingness to respond to my bizarre emails, has made the difficult times of my son's first year much less lonely. I'm so glad that we are doing this, and that we are doing it together.

Okie dokie, onwards and upwards!

(Updates, to reflect my inability to count, are in brackets, and were made 4pm Tuesday 19th Sept.)

I enjoy the little community of saneness that is THM. I really value the contributions of the readers, which are always intelligent, humane and thoughtful. It's a wee ray of sunshine!

THM is a regular read and a welome addition to my list of work avoidance activites. :)

Um, is my math wrong, or is six months after March 18th September 18th?

Congratulations! I look forward to your petulant teens and early 20s. The easy years. (?)

Surely cramming six months' worth of achievements into five is better still! ;-)

Couldn't resist but congratulations nonetheless :).

There are three kinds of people int he world - those who can count and those who can't. :)

i haven't been here from the beginning, but have really enjoyed being a contributor. i must admit to often being daunted by the high standard maintained by my co-bloggers!

Aww shit. I was sure Sept 18th was the 6 monthiversary, and we have an event we are working on for that day, but then I counted again and came up with August 18th. I originally mentioned this in my post but took that paragraph out as it seemed a bit pointless. Obviously I should have counted a third time!! Ok, I will fix this when I have some time this afternoon.

Thanks for the kind wishes despite my poor counting skills. You'd think I could reliably count to six! Actually I got good marks in maths at school. Is it too late to blame baby brain? ;-)

Congratulations. I really love this blog ... it is so nice to be able to read other feminist Kiwis' thoughts about things going on in our culture.

I should save my congrats for next month? But hey, I know how hard it is to keep a blog running and active. Whatever time period it is, it is still impressive.
