A year of Hand Mirrorness

A year ago yesterday this blog went public, and we started on this journey together.

As most political blogs in Aotearoa New Zealand seem to have a lifespan of about three years, I guess making it to the big One is kind of like a 21st celebration!

Thanks so much to all our bloggers, readers, linkers, lurkers, and everyone else who has supported this project. Here's to making it to middle age :-)

A few months from now THM may have a midlife crisis...I wonder what that will look like?

Thanks for all your hard work over the past year. I really enjoy having a NZ feminist corner to come to after years of getting my feminist news from US-centric sites.

Congratulations. Your successes are well deserved. I admire the constructive, frank and incredibly informed and varied writing.

Ooh I've been reading for almost year and hadn't realised I'd come in at the beginning! Congratulations and thanks to you all as I really enjoy popping in here and getting my antidote to mainstream media!

Whenever I get internet access Handmirror and Stuff are the two pages I open first. And I generally find myself reading stuff second. Thank you guys so much for ALL the hard work. Seriously - keeping it this good for a year is a huge achievement!

ps My apologies for the hand mixer tonight - I have family visiting - a few too many to bring along. Hope you have a cracking cup cake time :-)

Happy birthday and well done! I wish I had a bit more time to comment and engage but I am lurking & I think you are doing sterling work bringing thoughtful, informed and mature perspectives to NZ online discourse. Keep it up! A+:)

Congratulations!

You very rapidly produced what is an essential blog. Insightful and relevant, it reflects the strengths of the contributors :) Long may it continue.

Can I just say, as somebody who is not in your target demographic gender wise (although I like to think I am politically - I certainly endorse the feminist cause), that I love this blog. It is so refreshing to see a political blog that is so relevant, yet so completely different from everything else in the NZ political blogosphere. Keep up the great work!
