Tony Veitch - some must read posts

These are the ones that have jumped out at me - it's a short list because I haven't had much online time recently, so feel free to add others in comments (note apologist links will be gone by lunchtime):
In addition, of course, to the posts my co-bloggers have made here ;-)

The general consensus that I'm seeing is that people are prepared to move on once Veitch himself stops. While he keeps the story in the media then comment will continue. And it's more and more turning against him. Not all publicity is good publicity after all.

In contrast, can Paul Holmes **please** just STFU (re: Monday's Herald column).

Anon, records are so 1972. Either call them vinyl or get with the 21st century and ask me to press shuffle or something.

Cripes, it's really moving into desperate attention seeking/cry for help territory. That's one hell of a public "suicide bid".

Good call, Anon. It's high time we accepted that celebrities who commit domestic violence should be treated differently from others.

Anyone who rings the newspaper to make sure they cover their suicide bid needs serious help.

Dunne-Powell has been dignified with saying she's not going to comment further despite Veitch publishing private emails.

He keeps begging the media to "leave him alone" but then he makes sure BOTH papers cover his "suicide" bid!

Thank-you for your post Julie. I think it's important the public realise who the victim is here. It's incredible that people have forgotten.

A few months back there was a Courts Marshall of a senior Army Officer for sexual harrassment.

At the time I felt it strange that the officer was just demoted, now there is another Courts Marshall of sexual assult & a senior Officer.

Not knowing whom this might be, it would at least bring a better light on the privious case if he was 'held' in the Army for the second case to be presented.

Either that or there is a very rotten centre to the Army command structure.

In that case Julie get some new ideas that aren't so ridiculously out of date.

You'd be handy at the Salem witch trials...

Domestic violence issues are out of date? Who knew? *rolls eyes*

Anonymous, did you just imply that a woman should be tried as a witch (punishable with hanging) because you disagree with her, in the same comment as you told her that fighting violence against woman is outdated?

That's certainly how it reads to me.

The unwitting irony is burning a hole in my brain.

No Alison - I said that her endless pursuit of Veitch is unnatural and reeks of a personal hate campaign.

I am sure her ideal outcome is that he kills himself. Harsh but true.

I don't get it Anon - If you're just so upset about a feminist website blogging about domestic violence why do you keep coming back here every few minutes to see if you've got bites?

She's the cat's mother Anon, if you could stop accusing me of trying to drive Tony Veitch to suicide that would be nice. You may be new here, don't know, but you might want to consider that this community has some rules about how it operates and you are not respectin' dem. Consider this a friendly warning.

And what T and Alison said.
