Because what you wear is all about him

Found at Spare Room.

When I was pregnant I was quite wistful about Hot Milk, which I couldn't afford, but now I'm feeling like it was a lucky escape if it can make you so baby-brained and clumsy and fixated on turning on a man that you break valued possessions.

PS I'll be away all this week for work so might not get much posting done, apologies in advance!

I love it! Why can't pregnant women be sexy, and reckless with the china? It's all about choice.

Oh this is right up there with the NZ Herald's top 10 Yummy Mummies --- ground breaking journalism once again. It's absolutely important that everyone in life is a sexual object at all times -- tweens, teens, adults, pregnant people, and that we have *great* advertising to do support this too.

I love hotmilk bras, possibley because they are nice and under $75 which is good when you have a big bust, but sometimes their advertising pushes boundaries which is good in some ways as being pregnant isnt always seen as a particularly sexy period of time

The implication seems to be that she's breaking stuff because she's pregnant, but I'm not entirely sure... is that a stereotype of pregnant women? I've seen plenty of sex scenes where smashing stuff incidentally is just seen as a sign of reckless passion, so I'm not entirely sure.

What really bugs me, though, is that while they're successfully challenging the idea that pregnant women can't be sexy, they apparently still need to look like catwalk models to do so (just, y'know, pregnant catwalk models).

I'm with Hugh.

I don't think a company deserves praise for showing 'pregnant women can be sexy' if their sexy pregnant women are just stick-thin models. I mean that woman couldn't be more "perfect" in terms of what society says is beautiful. She's physically tiny expect for her bump.

I'm guessing most pregnant women don't look like that when they're pregnant. And it seems the message is pregnancy is sexy if you look like she does.

Not to mention the fact that we don't need to be told what's sexy and what isn't.

I thought it was supposed to be her knocking things over because she can't control her bump..? Subtext being that pregnant woman can be sexy but they are ultimately ridiculous as well.

Exactly Boganette. She looks like a catwalk model who had a plus-size stomach glued on. Maybe that's what catwalk models look like when they get pregnant, I sure as hell don't know. But the issue is so much bigger than that.
