MCP Watch: Richard Prosser MP

"Because our society, New Zealand society, Western society in general, has been hijacked by a conspiracy of Silly Little Girls. They’re everywhere; in the schools, in the media, in the public service, in the judiciary, even in Cabinet.

Everywhere we turn, the foundations of masculinity, the pillars of male-ness which have underpinned the construction and development of our very civilisation, are being undermined, by Silly Little Girls. And we are putting up with it."

From Richard Prosser's new book Uncommon Dissent.  (The above extract is via the Wellington Young Feminists' Collective's facebook page.)

Richard Prosser FAQs:

1.  Who is Richard Prosser?
A new NZ First MP, elected via the party list at the November 2011 election.

2.  What other antediluvian views does he hold?
Prosser is also a card-carrying Climate Change Denier, believes we should ban the burqa, and identifies as a "genuine freedom-loving, gonad-equipped, libertarian go-getter[s]".

3.  WTF?
See answer to question 1.

Feel free to discuss Mr Prosser's early attempt at the coveted title of Most Sexist MP in Our Current Parliament in comments, including, if you have access to the PDF ($26 to buy!!) sharing more quotes for our enlightenment and correction.

UPDATE:  Tallulah at The Lady Garden is suggesting a pigtail protest, along with knee socks and lollipops, which sounds like fun.  What say you?

My 'favourite' quote I've seen so far:

"I don’t have a problem with people being queer if that’s their kick. I know some excellent poofters. So long as they don’t do it in the street and frighten the horses, what they get up to in the bedroom is their own business, in my libertarian opinion. But I draw the line at gays getting married or adopting children. Why? Because marriage is the preserve of us regular straight folk, and because kids need to be raised by a mum and a dad. It’s bad enough that so many of our youngest generation live in fractionated families and separate households, without deliberately making things worse. It happens that some people have children, and then swap teams. That’s different. But choosing to be gay from the start, doesn’t come with the right to partake in shaping the next generation. Getting married and raising kids is about the kids, not about us. If you want a pet, go and buy a dog."

Hey I feel kinda the same way about folk like him. Having a mouth doesn't come with a right to partake in shaping the next generation so shut the fuck up, already, Richard.

Belatedly remembering that apparently if you can't say anything nice you shouldn't say anything at all, I will add that "fractionated" is an excellent neologism that I shall pepper all further statements with.

E.g. in the 1996 term the NZ First caucus fractionated, resulting in the creation of a new, competitor, party Mauri Pacific, and a smattering of independents, along with a much reduced caucus for Winston Peters.

THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT RICHARD PROSSER MP: "I mean if people want to be weak, stupid, effeminate, erectile dysfunctional, naïve, apologist, namby-pamby, thumb-sucking, lefty pinko fantasy-land morons, let them find their own word for themselves, and leave "liberal" for us genuine freedom-loving, gonad-equipped, libertarian go-getters".

this quote was used to PROMOTE the man. good grief, what would people use when they want to make him look bad???

Let's not forget he also compared Australia's Lost Generation to young NZ's disadvantaged by Rogernomics:

"So, Australia is apologising to the people who have come to be known as her “lost generation”; the Aboriginal people who were removed from their families and communities as children, from the late 1800s through to the late 1960s, and forcibly assimilated into white mainstream Australian culture.
Sometime in the not-too-distant future, New Zealand will have a similar apology to make; not to a generation of displaced indigenes [WTF], but to an entire generation of young New Zealanders who have been lost to the ravages of the insanity known overseas as “the New Zealand Experiment”

^ we should be able to initiate some disciplinary proceedings against him in that case. Isn't that part of the privilege of being the one who pays the wages...?

Except we're not free to discuss it at all are we you pack of ignorant arrogant censoring Marxist arseholes?

Oh Redbaiter they let your comment through.

Couldn't you come up with something more cutting or witty than that?

DPF:TLDR said...

If he's a libertarian I'm surprised he has such a negative view of the Rogernomics reforms

Anonymous said...

He's no Libertarian. His views on gay marriage and his very socialist position on water privatisation tell us that. He's a confused, conservative righty blowhard like his mate Redbaiter.

Too true Anon @3:48. In one of those blurbs he actually fellaciously equates liberal with being Libertarian. The two political positions are so far apart he must be rolling his smokes using pages from Ayn Rand.

DPF:TLDR said...

@ A Nonny: That depends whether you're using the American version of "liberal" or not.

Oh, not again! What makes guys over fifty veer so far to the right they fall off the edge? Is it testosterone going badly stale? Does it affect one's brain cells, causing undesirable effects like voting for NZ First or writing for baboon fodder tragic tabloid gutter glossies?

Why do I get the feeling that Tosser has nightmares about being chased down darkened corridors by (deep breath) Giant Maori Marxist Muslim Deconstructionist Solo Mother Pro-Choice Lesbian MMP Supporter Devils waving sharpened
labyrises?

Hmmm. Why doesn't someone dress up as Giant Maori Marxist Muslim Deconstructionist Solo Mother Pro-Choice Lesbian MMP Supporter Devils waving sharpened
labyrises as they chase Tosser effigies round the parliamentary grounds?

Yes..."Liberal"" in its classic original meaning is the same as "Libertarian" today.

"Liberal" in the modern American context means "Socialist".

I've been saying that for years.
