Body love Monday

Good morning, LudditeJourno, this is your first piece of misogyny for the day. If you're not hating your body when you open your eyes, Facebook is here to help. Don't be confused, this isn't a picture of someone unwell, or without access to adequate food. It's aspirational.
Solidarity to everyone out there struggling with horrific messages about how our bodies "should" look in terms of weight or skin colour or gender cues or.....
I'm off to eat breakfast. Maybe twice. Right after I try and plait my body hair and enjoy the fact that at 43, my body is distributed differently than it was when I was 23. Body love Monday to everyone.

Jezus H - that woman in that pic must be close to death!! And Facebook agreed to use it in an ad?! WTF next - concentration camp victims???
I marked it as offensive. I hope I never see that ad again.
That is fkn horrific.
I'm pretty sure that's a manipulated image, not the real appearance of an actual person.
The image is horrid, but when I clicked through, it led to a page that was offering support to people with anorexia. However, I didn't explore the page at all, and it could be that it's a diet page disguised as an anorexia-help page. And now the ad isn't popping up on my feed any more...
Having said that, I felt ill when I saw the ad, and even if it was leading to a genuine help page, I don't think its use was justified. It's vile.
Wow Deborah that's really interesting, thanks for sharing. Hard to see how that's a good way to market for people struggling with anorexia? The image makes me want to cry.
