WWRC film evening in Auckland

Thanks to Ros for emailing me about this:
The NZCTU Organising Centre and the WWRC invites you to a film evening

On her trip to North America, Bronwynn Maxwell purchased two excellent union movies (on DVD’s) which we will make available over the next few months. The first movie to be shown is:
‘At a River I Stand’

Many of us know that Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis but how many of you know that he was visiting Memphis to support a Sanitation workers strike? This movie focuses on the strike and Dr Martin Luther King’s role in supporting these workers.

Trades Hall, 147 Great North Road, Grey Lynn
on Friday 19 June from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Red flag Social Club facilities and nibbles provided
