Election night intentions at The Hand Mirror

We've had a bit of a chat behind the scenes and a few people have been keen to live blog on Saturday 26th November.  If you don't know why that might be then you're probably going to find Saturday night's blogging really really dull.  And confusing.

At this stage there will likely be three of us, doing separate live blog posts which we'll update sporadically:
  • Luddite Journo - at the Greens Wellington HQ
  • Julie - at the Mt Roskill Labour HQ
  • Maia - in front of the telly and the interwebs
I reckon Maia will have the most fun; her favourite part of elections is when people she hates lose their seats, and it looks like there could be a lot of people on the losing end of things - sitting MPs, hopeful newbies, and everyone in between.  It's going to be a tense tense night.

If you are going to be busy on election day itself then I strongly endorse doing an Advance (Early) Vote.  I did mine on Friday afternoon; very simple, didn't need my EasyVote card, no queue, and was much more do-able with two kids under 4 than voting would be on E Day itself.

I'm going to have fun. Newtown Rocksteady are playing :-) so I'll be dancing whether or not there's a revolution...

Hm, I thought the requirements for voting in advance were more strict than that, but of course now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense that it would be pretty open.
