Election 2008 Stuff

This will act as an index of all the Election stuff we did, so that I can take all the bits and pieces off the sidebar and just add this.

Before the election
The Hand Mirror's candidate survey - index of responses from candidates and parties to our survey on women's issues.

Policy Quickies
- some quick hit analysis of a few key policy areas pertinent to women.

The Suffrage Eve Debate - between four women candidates, all representing different parties, debating whether Eve should vote left or right of centre, held the night before Suffrage Day in Auckland.

Deborah also did a series of guest posts on our election for Aussie blog Larvatus Prodeo, which you can find cross-posted at her place.

And of course a fair dollop of posting by us all about the campaign, which you'll find in the archives, including some gender analysis of most of the party lists (here's the last one, which includes links to all the rest at the bottom).

Election Night itself
I did an extensive live-blog at The Standard and failed to live up to my intentions around live-blogging the marginals with women candidates here.

Post-Election Analysis & Comment
As of right now we have the following (oldest at the top, most recent at the bottom):

The end of an era (Julie)
The mutant descendant of the 1980s and 1990s - fun (Maia)
Overhangs and hangovers (Anna)
Silver linings (Julie)
Crappy hour (Enid)
The Not So Secret Ballot (Guest post from katy)
winners & losers (Anjum, at her blog)
XXers in the house (the ex-expat)
A story of two Johns (Anna)

More to come no doubt!

A big thank you to The Hand Mirror! Your posts and candidate surveys were of great help when I was making up my mind who to vote for.

Thank you so much for all your work these past few months!! I only wish you had a much MUCH wider audience for it, because there was precious little analysis in the mainstream media!
